Dennis Turner, who has died of a heart attack, was someone I have known and worked with for over 20 years. It was only last Saturday that I had the pleasure of introducing Dennis to delegates at the BAPC conference at the Holiday Inn near Barnet. “A home game for me” said Dennis who shot off after giving his usual high energy easily digested economic overview to watch his beloved Fulham play Arsenal at the Emirates; he played self deprecation with a North London accent laced with one liners worthy of Tommy Trinder, but boy did he know his stuff! A sad loss to economics, our thoughts are with his family.

The final testimonial we received for Dennis; it sums him up perfectly… “Dennis was absolutely perfect. He dealt with, what some would consider a dry subject, in an informed, easy to understand way and his delivery, full of humour was just what the audience wanted.” BAPC Annual Conference – January 2014
