Caspar Berry
Caspar Berry started his career in Byker Grove on BBC1 alongside Ant and Dec. He went on to read Economics and Anthropology at Cambridge and, after setting his sights on becoming a professional film writer, had his first screenplay produced by Film Four whilst still in his final year. By the time he was 23 Caspar was writing for Miramax and Columbia Tri Star. Then at 25, he took the decision that would dramatically change his life: he moved to Las Vegas and became a professional poker player! Caspar played poker professionally for most of the next 3 years of his life during which time he made a good living pitting his wits against the game’s best known players.
In 2002 Caspar returned to the U.K. He co-founded Twenty First Century Media, the fastest growing audio visual media company in the north east, before it was sold to Bob Geldof’s media giant, Ten Alps, in 2008.
It was while still at the helm of Twenty First Century Media that he began his career as a speaker and catalyst for new thinking within business about risk-taking and decision-making.
More recently, Caspar has gone back to his television roots as presenter and poker expert on Poker Night Live, voted Britain’s best poker show, and the Emmy award nominated Sky Poker, the country’s premier nightly poker show. He also appears on Sky Sports and is the poker strategy writer for Flush magazine. His latest film credit was as poker adviser on the James Bond movie, Casino Royale.
Caspar has delivered his risk taking and decision making seminars and speeches to over 100 different clients, winning many awards along the way. His 45-60 minute presentation is punchy and entertaining, balancing logic with metaphor and culminating in a rousing and inspiring ending that empowers listeners to take action not just think about it! Caspar’s material brings to life an otherwise dry and complicated subject matter and gives people new insight into what drives them and how to change.
“Caspar uses his experience to present a unique and captivating presentation/workshop all around learning to fail in order to succeed. I came away feeling energised and entertained. I would recommend this to others because it really gets you to think about your own mind-set in a very different way.” Berwin Leighton Paisner
“Caspar has excellent and well thought through material. He is able to take principles from Poker and provide relevant insight and application for business. It certainly challenged the group to think differently. Caspar is a highly energetic, engaging and charismatic speaker. He stays on brief and time and is very flexible adapting to the needs of the group.” Brand Learning Partners
