Sir AP McCoy
Sir A P McCoy is the greatest jump jockey of all time. The 18 times champion jockey has won everything there is to
win – including the prestigious Cheltenham Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother Champion Chase, King
George V1 Chase and the 2010 Grand National.
To cap it all, in November 2013 he recorded his 4,000th career win – an unbelievable achievement (and he has
ridden the equivalent of one and a half times around the world). He owns all the jump jockeys’ records for
reaching career milestones in the fastest time.
In 2010 AP was named BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year in 2010; the first jockey to win the award. His
outstanding success in the saddle and his all-round popularity, have made him a racing legend and he is one of the
most talented, motivated, energetic and successful sportsman of our time.
As President of the Professional Jockeys’ Association, AP enjoys public speaking; his experience, humour and
personality endears him to any audience. He is an amusing, inspirational, motivational and intelligent speaker,
hugely popular for after-dinner speaking engagements, and his Q&A sessions are insightful, inspiring and lively
affairs. He has some incredible anecdotes to tell (and not just from the racecourse – from playing golf with Tiger
Woods, training with the Arsenal football team when he was injured, and breaking bones 750 times!
AP is a regular contributor to Channel 4 Racing, The Morning Line, on BBC TV and talkSPORT. He also has a
weekly racing and football slot on Radio 5 Live.
But he is interested in more than just horse racing. A fan of all sports, and with a sporting knowledge to match his
keen interest, AP has appeared on A Question of Sport, ESPN, Setanta Sport and Soccer AM.
his autobiography has received acclaim throughout the sporting and non-sporting world and AP has followed it up
with his first novel called “Taking the Fall”.
